In accordance with subclause 7.7 of the JTC 1 Directives (5th edition), each SC 29 member shall send the SC 29 Secretariat and the host contact a Delegates list showing the names and employers of their representatives and also the name of the head of delegation by 2004-06-26.

In accordance with subclause 7.8 the JTC 1 Directives (5th edition), the SC 29 members are requested to submit their contributions to the plenary meeting to the Secretariat by 2004-06-26.

Redmond is located approximately 21 km (13 mi) east of Seattle. The city is well known as a center of technology and the location for a number of nationally known high-tech companies in addition to Microsoft, such as Nintendo and AT&T Wireless. Redmond is the 15th most populous city in the state of Washington, and encompasses an area of over 16.6 square miles.
FACILITY INFORMATION
A variety of amenities will be provided at the Microsoft Conference Center, including wired and wireless access, computer room with PCs, printers & phones, A/V equipment for presentations, P/A systems, photocopier access and other business services.
REGISTRATION & FEES
Attendees will be able to register for the meeting via the secured Online Registration Tool starting 19 March 2004. Onsite registration will begin on Saturday, July 17, 2004 and will continue throughout the meeting. You will receive your event credentials and materials at this time.
The cost of the meeting is $375(USD) if registered by 4 June 2004. Attendees who register after this date will be charged a cost of $400 (USD). (Note: individuals ONLY attending the SC 29 Meeting on Monday 26 July and Tuesday 27 July will not be charged the facilities fee).
Cancellations made on or before 2 July 2004 will be refunded, less a $25.00 cancellation fee. All cancellations must be made in writing, via e-mail -- please send cancellations to the Registration Desk. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your cancellation. Cancellations made after July 2, 2004, as well as no-shows, are liable for the full registration fee.
AGENDA INFORMATION
Information on meeting agendas and schedules will be updated on the Meeting Website on an ongoing basis.
All delegates are invited to an evening dinner reception on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, one of the world's premier air & space museums. The Museum of Flight features 54 of the world's most awe-inspiring airplanes, including the newly-acquired Concorde Ethe only one on the West Coast. Transportation will be provided to & from the Microsoft campus.

We have reserved blocks of rooms at two preferred hotels in Bellevue, Washington, approximately 11 km (7 mi) from the Microsoft campus. When registering using the Online Registration Tool, you will be able to automatically select and reserve one of these two preferred hotels at a negotiated conference rate.
Complimentary transportation will ONLY be provided to and from these two preferred hotels and the Microsoft Conference Center at scheduled times during the meeting.

Space is provided at these hotels on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please book your preferred reservations through the online registration tool as soon as possible. Lodging and travel costs are the responsibility of each participant. You can make changes to your hotel accommodations by contacting the Registration Desk.
Cancellations must be e-mailed to the Registration Desk at least 72 hours prior to check-in to avoid any cancellation charges. Cancellations after this time must be made directly with the hotel and can be subject to charges to the credit card used to reserve your room.
A list of other hotels in the Bellevue/Redmond area, as well hotels in the downtown Seattle area, is available on the Meeting Website should you prefer to arrange lodging on your own.
AIRPORT TRAVEL
Flight arrangements and costs are the responsibility of each participant. The closest airport to Microsoft and the event hotels is the Seattle/Tacoma (SeaTac) International Airport, just outside of Seattle, Washington.

TRANSPORTATION
Airport Transportation
Transportation upon arrival is the responsibility of the participant. Taxi cabs and limousines are available to meet travelers on the third floor of the Airport Parking Garage. To arrange for a taxi or limo, use one of the curbside phones on the Baggage Claim Level, Information Boards, or visit the Ground Transportation Center, located on the third floor of the Parking Garage.

Meeting Transportation
Complimentary transportation will be provided to and from the two preferred meeting hotels and the Microsoft Conference Center at scheduled times during the meeting.
If
you choose to drive your own vehicle to the meetings, please note that all attendees,
including visiting Microsoft employees, will need to register their vehicles
with the Microsoft Conference Center (at the information desk).
Attendees should park in designated Visitor parking spaces only located in the
parking garage for the Microsoft Conference Center.

Some countries require a formal invitation to the meeting. This invitation can be obtained by contacting Mike Rubinfeld of NIST at miker@nist.gov.

Attendees will find ATMs everywhere in the Seattle/Redmond-area, including several on the Microsoft Campus (locations can be found on the Microsoft Campus Map on the Meeting Website and will be also be provided onsite at registration.)

FOOD
Breakfast, lunch and morning & afternoon snacks will be provided for attendees daily, as well as dinner on Friday night, at the Wednesday social event, and the following Monday night for SC 29 attendees. If you have dietary limitations or requirements, please indicate your preferences in the online registration tool, or contact the Registration Desk prior to your arrival. We will do our best to accommodate any requests onsite.

ATTIRE
The weather in the Seattle/Redmond area can be unpredictable, however July is one of the most enjoyable months here. Average temperature range is from 13:C/55:F (night-time low) to 24:C/75:F (day-time high) degrees during July. Attire for all meetings and evening events is business casual. Attendees can check local weather before arriving for current conditions.
LOCAL ACTIVITIES
Seattle has an abundance of interesting activities for visitors to the city. From the bustling Pike Place Market, to interesting museums such as the Seattle Art Museum and Experience Music Project, to the Space Needle for a birds-eye view of the city and surrounding areas.
