On 2008-07-21 and 2008-07-22, SC 34 Ad Hoc Group 1 met in London (see document N 1055). At the time of that meeting ISO/IEC 29500 - a subject of the meeting's deliberations - was subject to appeals, and the processing of the meeting's output by SC 34 was therefore dependent on those appeals ceasing.

ISO and IEC have stated that those appeals are not to be processed. Consequently the meeting output may now be processed by SC 34.

As instructed by SC 34, the meeting's output is a draft resolution for its consideration. This is given below. For supporting explanatory material, please see document N 1055.

Resolution

(a) A new Working Group (named "WG 4") is hereby established pursuant to the JTC 1 Directives 2.6.

(b) The description of WG 4 shall be "Maintenance of, and projects directly and exclusively related to, ISO/IEC 29500".

(c) The acting convenor of WG 4 shall be MURATA Makoto (JP).

(d) The SC 34 Secretariat shall request ISO and IEC to publicise the existence of WG 4 to encourage participation from all who are eligible.
