- Doug MAHUGH (Ecma) proposed he present also on document interoperability

It was agreed to discuss the scope of WG 5 following a presentation

Douh MAHUGH (Ecma) presented. See SC 34 N 1141

The convenor addressed the issue of scope

- Mario WENDT queried whether we should be discussing scope

- Francis CAVE (GB) suggested there was some value in establishing principles of interoperabilty as a basis for discussion

There was a lengthy discussion concerning the merits of discussing principles, as opposed to looking directly at the TR

== Day 2 ==

Klaus-Peter ECKERT presented on the state of draft TR 29166 (presentation available as SC 34 N1142)

There followed a lengthy discussion on the scope, status, audience and title of the draft TR, and agreed that both should be amended to synchronise with the actual content of the TR draft

- afternoon -

Klaus-Peter ECKERT presented a proposed revised structure for the TR

This was generally approved; Alex Brown (UK) was tasked with drafting a proposed new scope statement for consideration by the WG

The editors undertook to present a new draft prior to the Prague meeting following the new structure

Patrick DURUSAU (USA) gave a presentation on the use of PSIs for identifying document constructs (see SC 34 N 1143).

== Recommendations ==

Recommendation 1:
WG5 instructs the project editors to submit a working draft of TR 29166 to the convenor before the Prague SC 34 meetings, and to expect to prepare a draft for PDTR ballot by 2010-11-01

Recommendation 2:
WG5 instructs Patrick DURUSAU to prepare examples of the use of PSIs for identifying document constructs in ISO/IEC 26300 and 29500, for discussion at the Prague meeting
