* WG 5 recommends that SC 34 amend the title of TR 29166 as follows:

[Old title:] OpenDocument Format (ISO/IEC 26300) / Office Open XML (ISO/IEC 29500) Translation

[New title:] Open Document Format (ISO/IEC 26300) / Office Open XML (ISO/IEC 29500) Translation Guidelines

* WG 5 recommends that SC 34 amend the scope of TR 29166 as follows:

[Old scope:] The report will start by studying common use cases to identify how the most important functionalities of one document format can be represented in the other format. The technical report will do a thorough review of the concepts, architectures and various features of the two document formats in order to provide a good understanding of the commonalities and differences. We expect that functionalities will be able to be translated with different degrees of fidelity to the other format. We will provide, for each functionality, detailed information on the extent of which that functionality can be translated. This report is a necessary step to the goal of helping achieve interoperability and harmonization between the two formats.

[New scope:] This Technical Report will start by studying common use cases to identify how the most important functionalities of one document format can be represented in the other format. This will be followed by a thorough review of the concepts, architectures and various features of the two document formats in order to provide a good understanding of the commonalities and differences. We expect that functionalities will be able to be translated with different degrees of fidelity to the other format. We will provide, for an illustrative sample of this functionality, detailed information on the extent of which that functionality can be translated. This report is a necessary step to the goal of helping achieve interoperability and harmonization between the two formats.
