4. Electricity

The standard voltage in the Korea is 220 volts AC, 60 Hz with a round two-pin plug (same as in Germany or France). If your appliance plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.

5. Currency and Credit cards

The unit of Korean currency is won(Korean won : KRW, ). Coin denominations are 10 won, 50 won, 100 won, 500 won. Bank notes are 1,000 won, 5,000 won, 10,000 won and 50,000 won. Bank checks are circulated in denominations of 100,000 won and over.

Foreign currency and traveller's check can be converted into Korean won at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money exchangers. The exchange rate is subject to market fluctuations. 1 USD was equivalent to about 1,115 won as of November 2010.

Credit cards (Visa, Master, Diners etc.) are accepted at hotels, department stores, and restaurants.

6. Daegu Inside

Located at the southeastern part of Korea, Daegu is the nation's third largest city with a population of 2.54 million. As a revered, time-honored city with splendid Buddhist and Confucian traditions and culture, Daegu has successfully blended traditional culture with a modern flavor. Three UNESCO World Heritage sites out of 7 in Korea are situated in the vicinity of Daegu.

Daegu is located at the center of the nation's four largest industrial complexes, namely Gumi (Electronics), Changwon (Machinery & Metal), Pohang (Iron & Steel), and Ulsan (Shipbuilding & Automobiles). Daegu has been providing excellent human resources, R&D activities and hi-technology parts for the companies located in these complexes.

A. 1. Direct flights to Daegu International Airport

Daegu International Airport is only three kilometers away from Inter-Burgo-EXCO Hotel, the venue for the meeting, and located nearby the city center.

The taxi fare from Daegu Int'l Airport to hotel Inter-Burgo EXCO is around 4,000 KRW and it usually takes about 10 minutes. From Dongdaegu Train Station or Dongdaegu Express Bus Terminal, the fare is about 6,000 KRW (20 minutes).

It takes about 110 minutes by bus to Gimhae International Airport, northwest of Busan from Inter-Burgo EXCO Hotel.

There are many regular and frequent Airport Limousine Buses from Gimhae International Airport to Dongdaegu Express Bus Terminal. You can take the Limousine Bus (deluxe) at the bus stop 1 for Dongdaegu Express Bus Terminal. You can purchase a bus ticket when you ride on a bus.

You can take a bus at the No.10C Bus Stop of Incheon Int*l Airport. You can purchase a bus ticket at ticket offices around the bus stop.

If you buy a KTX and an airport limousine bus ticket together at the Information Desk located on the first and third floor of Incheon Int'l Airport Terminal, you can get a discount for a bus ticket.

The Airport Railroad Expressed (AREX), which will run all the way from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station downtown, will be completed by 28th Dec. 2010.
Incheon International Airport Station of AREX is located on the first underground level of the Transportation Center at Incheon International Airport. Free electric cart service is available for passengers with heavy baggage, senior citizens, and the disabled. Service hours: 7:00~21:00 (365 days a year)

Depending on your available time we recommend you the following sites. Some of them are located close to the hotel and can thus be easily visited individually, whereas others are more distant and can be visited with a bus provided by a travel agent.

¢ Tripitaka Koreana, the Secret of 750 Years Preservation

Haein Temple, in Gaya National Park, is second to none as a place for the understanding of Korean Buddhism. Established in 802, it has a number of treasures in more than 90 buildings; however, what really distinguishes this temple from others is the collection of more than 80,000 wooden printing blocks, which make up the Tripitaka Koreana. Designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Tripitaka Koreana is the oldest edition of wooden blocks containing the essence of spiritual culture of Koreans and have been preserved, harmonized, and taken refuge in the nature.

¢ Temple-stay in Dongwha Temple

A temple stay is a cultural-experience program designed to help people better understand Buddhism in Korea. Temple stays offer various kinds of practicing methods, such as Yebul (ceremonial service involving chanting), Chamseon (Zen meditation), Dahdoh (a tea ceremony) and Balwoo Gongyang (communal meal practice). Visitors may experience the Buddhist life simply by breathing the pure and clean air in the temple situated in the beautiful surrounds.

¢ Farm Stay

Guam village, a typical farm village, is a beautiful village with dense pine forests and clean valleys as well as a lot of chestnut trees. ¢ Hahoe Folk Village

The Andong area has been known for its traditional culture since the Silla Dynasty (BC57-AD935). The city itself acts as a good base camp from which to explore all the numerous cultural sites in the surrounding area. . Especially, Hahoe Folk Village is the right place to visit. Hahoe Folk Village, a traditional habitat of the Pungsan Ryu's Family, has retained its original form since it was made in 1600 AD. This village, where the Queen of the United Kingdom, Elizabeth the Second, paid a visit as part of her 70th birthday celebrations, has been submitted as a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.

¢ Oriental Herb Medicine & Health Tour

Here you can experience the essence of oriental medicine that has a history of 350 years. For a rich selection of ginseng and herbal medicines, visit Yaknyeongsi and Yaknyeongsi Exhibition Hall in downtown Daegu. The first medicine wholesale market in Korea, Yaknyeongsi, has about 50 herbal medicine stores, 25 herbal clinics, 85 herbal doctors, and 20 ginseng stores. Here people can find all types of oriental medicines, herbs, elixirs, and potions to cure almost any ailment. Furthermore, visitors can enjoy a water park and health spa at the same time in Spa valley, which is a family每oriented resort. It provides various kinds of facilities for water activities with 100% spa water.

¢ Daegu Fashion & Beauty Tour

The fashion and beauty tour is unique in Daegu, a city of fashion. With this program visitors will get tips about makeup, coordination, and the latest beauty techniques. They will be also be able to try out fashion modeling for themselves with Korean traditional clothes, the latest trendy wear, and various events including stretching, walking, and catalog shooting. Such activities will give visitors unforgettable memories.

¢ Making Korean Food and Ceramics

Kimchi is a traditional fermented vegetable dish, which is the most basic side dish at every Korean meal. While making Kimchi, people can learn about wisdom of the Koreans and gain an understanding of their traditional food culture. Thus, it is not only fun but an excellent opportunity to learn about Korean culture and dietary life.

Ceramic art is a fascinating experience for people who may be interested in oriental art. Participants may have some hands-on experience in ceramics on this tour.

¢ Natural Dyeing Experience

One can appreciate the beautiful colors, embroidery design, dyeing pattern relics, reproduction work, and cultural products in Korea's first and only natural dyeing museum. Daegu's festivities never die down, even after sunset. After a long tiring day, visitors can unwind by checking out what is going on on the streets of Daegu. People can enjoy various tastes in Deurangil Street with 260 restaurants lining both sides of this colorful avenue. Dongseongno Street, a well-known central street of Daegu, provides glimpses of the city's fashion and culture. Dongseongno Street at night is crowded with people and colorful signs. Most shops and bars open until late at night. Furthermore, at night, Daegu Tower (of 202 meters in height) brings downtown Daegu in full view, and is a must see for those who visit Daegu for the first time.
