REGISTRATION & FACILITIES FEE PAYMENT
Delegates are requested to fill out the formal registration form and send back to the SC29/WG 11 Convenor
The facilities fee will cover the meeting facilities including lunch for the meeting days Monday thru Friday. Limited facilities will be available on the Saturday & Sunday
Facilities fee is AUS$525.00 payable at Registration Desk by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) . Lunches from Monday Friday and the social event are included in this fee.
The Registration Desk will be open from 1:00pm - 6:00pm Sunday, 3rd October and from 8:00am - 6:00pm during the meeting days.
Standards Australia would appreciate if you could pay your facilities fee in advance to ease the congestion at the meeting. We ask that you fill out the prepayment form

ACCOMODATION INFORMATION
Carlton Crest Hotel (Meeting Venue)
5 star hotel with fully equipped Health Centre and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools which are free to guests
Delegates are advised to stay at the venue hotel for convenience and to keep the overall meeting costs down. A special discount has been arranged for a standard room (Single/Double/Twin) of AUS$150 per night or a corporate room at AUS$170 please book directly with the hotel by using the Hotel booking form by fax or by e-mail no later than 3rd September 1999.
Note: Any cancellations must be made 48 hrs prior to the booking otherwise a night accommodation fee will be charged

COMPUTER FACILITIES
There will be PCs and a laser printers (with facilities for connection of notebook computers) available for the use of delegates. Office 97 will be loaded on the PCs. There will also be facility for email and WWW access. All major meeting rooms will have a data projector. Email to delegates may be sent to SC29WG11@standards.com.au . This facility will be available from mid September 1999 and for the duration of the meeting
SOCIAL EVENT
Delegates and their accompanying persons are invited to attend a dinner which be on the evening of Wednesday 6th October 1999. Further details will be available on registration
TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORT
BUS: There is SKYBUS leaving from outside the domestic terminals every half hour at ASU$10 per person one way or AUS$18 per person return. The domestic terminals are situated on either side of the entrance of the international terminal (approx 5 min walk). The bus will only drop into the city and you would need to get a taxi to the Carlton Crest (Approx AUS$10).
TAXI: A taxi rank is immediately outside the International Terminal, the trip to the hotel would be approx AUS$35, taxis can hold 4 passengers without luggage, probably only 2-3 with luggage. Station wagon taxis are available
GENERAL INFORMATION
All foreign visitors entering Australia must have a valid passport and, with the exception of New Zealand passport holders, a valid visa for entry into Australia. Visas must be obtained before arrival in Australia. Applications should be made to an Australian Consulate or Diplomatic mission in your country of residence.
Limitations apply to bringing in some items such as tobacco and alcohol. As Australia is an island, strict quarantine regulations apply. Additional information on visas, customs, health and quarantine can be found at http://www.immi.gov/visitors/
Every person 12 years and over must pay a AUS$33.40 departure tax. The tax can be prepaid with the airline ticket.
Average temperature for October 18 C with an average of 12 rainy days during the month although Melbourne is renowned for its variability
American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard and Visa are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops throughout Australia.
Electrical voltage is 240V AC 50 cycles, with outlets in a Y arrangement with 3 flat pins. A number of mains extension leads and multiple outlet power boards will be available for use in the meeting rooms. You will need an adaptor to fit your plug into the Australian socket. It is easier if these adaptors are purchased before you leave for Australia, although they are available from specialist stores..
Telephone outlets are slowly being changed to take the American modular (RJ11) plug, the normal Australian telephone plug is unique to the area. Adaptors are readily available at local stores.
Public telephones are widely available, Delegates are advised to purchase telephone cards from their own telephone companies to enable them to charge the cost of the call to their home or office numbers
Tipping is not obligatory. It is at your own discretion and only for good service. As a guide, add 7 to 10% to a restaurant bill. No service charges are added to hotel bills. Smoking is not encouraged in public buildings and is not permitted on public transport, including domestic air flights.
