 How to get to Pisa

 By air:

The Galileo Galilei Airport of Pisa , the fourth most important in the country in terms of air traffic, in addition to numerous domestic flights, offers daily flights to major European cities with overseas connections.

The airport, at 2 km south of the city centre, is linked to the centre of Pisa by public buses (lines No. 2, No. 3 and No. 7, which run every 10/15 minutes).

A railway station provides service to Pisa Central Railway Station.

The major car rental companies have their offices in the airport, near the arrivals gate.

Taxi service at any time costs approximately Lit. 20.000.

Further information on the Pisa Airport is available on the web at www.pisa-airport.com

The Leonardo da Vinci Airport of Florence is located at 80 km from Pisa.

 By train:

Pisa is an important hub in the national and international rail network, linking the Florence-Livorno line with the main line between Turin, Genoa, Rome and Milan.

The Central Railway Station is located in the city centre and transportation to and from the Congress Centre is provided by public buses (Lines No. 9 and No. 14).

 By car:

A number of highways and motorways converge on Pisa: the Via Aurelia, the Via Emilia, the highway A12 from Genoa Sestri Levante to Livorno and the highway A11 which intersects the Milan-Rome motorway and the highway A1 (Autostrada del Sole).

Light lunches, snacks, sandwiches and soft drinks will be available at the Pisa Conference Centre at lunch time. In addition it will be possible to have lunch at special rate in a restaurant, located at walking distance (more information available on-site). The cost of these facilities is not included in the meeting fee.

About Pisa

Famous for its breathtakingly spectacular "Piazza dei Miracoli", Pisa has preserved a medieval city centre of exceptional charm. Alongside the heritage from the Medici and Lorraine heras, there are remnants of roman and Etruscan art. The reason of such historic glory are to be found in the city's favourable geographical position, 10 km from the sea and within the jewels of one of Italy's most beautiful region: Florence, Lucca, Volterra, Siena, S. Giminiano, Versilia and the Apuan Alps. Its rich and ancient gastronomic tradition still today offers a variety of tasty dishes, perfectly suited to the DOC wines from the province.

Additional information is available at the web http://www.pisaonline.it/

The Pisa Conference Centre is located in a particularly pleasant area of the city on the right bank of the river Arno and has been designed on a modular plan, capable of adapting to different needs from conferences to exhibitions.

Public buses connect, within 10/15 minutes, any part of the city to the Conference Centre.
